The 2010 Biennial of the Americas is an international event that celebrates the culture, ideas and people of the Western Hemisphere, hosted by the City of Denver.

BiographyPandora Thomas is Director of the Environmental Service Learning Initiative as well as an environmental educator for Grind for the Green. Both programs aim to reconnect youth of color to the earth using innovative strategies. She is a certified teacher and received human rights advocacy and international education development training at Columbia University. She studied urban planning at Tufts University, and is a certified green building professional and permaculture designer. Pandora researched and did the initial writing and editing for a collaborative project called, Shades of Green, a Green Construction manual for a Youthbuild program that trains youth ages 18-24 in green construction skills. She has traveled to and lived in over 12 countries and has taught a range of subjects in pre-k through adult classrooms around the themes of human rights, environmental justice, and environmental education. She is passionate about reconnecting herself and others to the natural rhythms of our earth in order to heal our communities.
