Culture Club Holiday Brunch

The Biennial Culture Club is our brand new community dedicated to bringing together individuals from around Colorado who are passionate about the Biennial mission and eager to engage throughout the year. We will offer year-round programming that celebrates and builds on our connection to the Americas, and the rich Colorado-Americas culture that exists in our own backyard. At the end of this year, we will announce our 2024 programming and dates!

Our first official event is the Culture Club Holiday Brunch on Sunday, December 10th at Las Chivas Colombian Restaurant. Brunch starts at 10:30am and RSVPs are requested by December 6th.

The Culture Club is also a way for individuals with means to support the activation of up-and-coming artists and community members to engage with the Biennial and attend our Culture Summits, like our upcoming trip to Mexico City for Art Week in February! You can join the Culture Club at any of three levels that are designed to keep membership accessible while still encouraging those who are able to uplift young voices.

After the reception, take your seat for the highly anticipated screening of Juan of the Dead, a Cuban horror-comedy that follows a group of friends who must fend off a zombie apocalypse in Havana with the help of their resident slacker, Juan. This film kicks off a summer of Cinema Azteca films curated by and presented in partnership with the Biennial of the Americas.

Cinema Azteca is an exciting film series that provides moviegoers with a diverse and dynamic perspective on the film traditions of Mexico and Latin America. Cinema Azteca is presented weekly on Tuesday nights at the Holiday Theater.

Join the Scrivner Institute of Public Policy, the Center on American Politics, The Denver Gazette and Colorado Politics for a mayoral debate at the University of Denver, in partnership with Biennial of the Americas. We invite the DU and broader Denver communities to hear from the final mayoral candidates, Kelly Brough and Mike Johnston.

The debate will be moderated by Luige del Puerto, Editor at The Denver Gazette & Colorado Politics, and Dr. Seth Masket, Director of the Center on American Politics. Voters can also leave a question for moderators after registering.

Doors will open at 5:30pm and event begins promptly at 6:00pm.

Exploring issues that face all of us today in the Western hemisphere, the artists in this exhibition delve into themes from the Cities Summit: Climate Resilience, Democratic Renewal, Women's Empowerment, and Uplifting Underserved Communities.

The exhibition is co-presented by the University of Colorado, Denver and the Biennial of the Americas.

The Financial Times in partnership with Millicom Tigo is delighted to be hosting an exclusive dinner briefing to explore how collaboration across state and private sectors can ensure Latin American cities and communities benefit from digital ecosystems.

The exclusive event features a keynote interview with Ilan Goldfajn, President of the Inter-American Development Bank followed by a panel discussion focussing on how investments in technology and enhanced connectivity can reduce social gaps, generate employment and boost productivity in the region to leverage global and local opportunities.

The event will begin with a networking drinks reception followed by a three-course dinner.
